Up Close With The Tudor Pelagos LHD..

Recently, I attended the preview of Tudor's latest release - the Pelagos LHD ( Left Hand Drive). It was made especially for lefties and divers who are used to wearing their watches on the right and diving instruments on their left. Like the other Pelagos in the collection, it comes with a depth rating of 500m which is suitable for professional diving. Tudor enthusiasts will recall that there was another older Left-handed Tudor Sub (ref 9401) made in 1981.

The Pelagos has gone "Destro"! I like the configuration and the fact that the crown doesn't "dig" into my wrist.

Besides the position of the winding crown, another noticeable difference is the date display. It alternates in red and black for even and odd dates respectively. This is inspired by another vintage Tudor sub, ref 7021.

A side by side comparison with the regular Pelagos. The "off white" markers may look whiter under different lighting conditions (see above pic).

Each watch is individually numbered. All the other features like the Helium escape value and the patented expandable bracelet, remain intact. An additional rubber strap is supplied with the watch.

The Pelagos LHD is listed at S$6048.
When you consider its build quality, the well made Ti case, and an in-house COSC certified (MT5612) movement, it's a fair price to pay.

Journalists from Singapore and Thailand attended the preview.

An introduction by Terence from Tudor!

Chef "Hatch" Hashida was hired specially for the event to provide delectable sushi for the attendees.

Thank you, Tudor for the press preview and the opportunity to try on the watch!
