Press Release: Golden Balance For Glashutte Original.

SENATOR CHRONOMETER TAKES PRESTIGIOUS 2017 AUDIENCE AWARD

Thomas Meier, CEO  Glashutte Original

Senator Chronometer

Once again, Glashütte Original won the hearts – and with that the votes – of German speaking watch connoisseurs. In 2017, for the second year in a row, the Golden Balance in the top category of timepieces priced at over 25,000 Euro went to a masterpiece from the Saxon manufactory. Glashütte Original CEO Thomas Meier, who was present in Munich to receive the award for the Senator Chronometer, was given even more reason to celebrate: at the Awards Ceremony on 21 February the Senator Excellence took second place in the category for watches priced up to 10,000 Euros.

A renowned audience award
The modern ambience in auctioneer Ketterer's “House of Art” offered the perfect setting for a festive award presentation. A total of 285 different models stood for election in five price categories – a call to action to which the readers of FOCUS, FOCUS Online and UHREN-MAGAZIN were only too happy to respond: altogether 25,544 participants cast their votes.

Precision recognised and certified
In the category of timepieces over 25,000 Euros the watch connoisseurs and fans chose the elegant Senator Chronometer as their favourite. The model deftly combines two eminently traditional elements from the history of Glashütte Original: the desire to perform at the highest level in the art of watchmaking, and a sense of timeless elegance in aesthetics.

The form of the Senator Chronometers is inspired by the famous marine chronometers of the past. Its inner values are no less noteworthy than the brilliant exterior: The exceptional precision of its finely worked manual winding movement has been officially certified by the German Calibration Service. The refined white gold case, 42 mm in diameter, is brilliantly set off by the midnight blue shade of the finely grained dial and a Louisiana Alligator leather bracelet. Accompanying the standard time indicators are the characteristic Glashütte Original Panorama Date, a day-night display, power reserve indicator and small seconds display.
