Chopard LUC collector's Dinner.

Recently, Chopard hosted a dinner for LUC collectors at the DB Bistro & Oyster Bar in Marina Bay Sands. We were also very honored to have Chopard's co-president Karl-Friedrich Scheufele in attendance.

The highlight of the event was a magnificent timepiece, the Ferdinand Berthoud FB1Tourbillon. Chopard has revived the brand in a tribute to Ferdinand Berthoud who was born in 1727 in Plancemont-sur-Couvet, which is about five kilometers from Fleurier. He was a master watchmaker and chronometer-maker who was appointed Clockmaker to the Navy and the King in 1773.

Collectors checking out some of the impressive collection from LUC.

Chopard LUC Regulator with a massive 9 days power reserve. I prefer this to the older models.

The absolutely gorgeous LUC XP Esprit de Fleurier in 18k white gold case with diamond set bezel a lovely MOP dial and "reverse" engraving on the plates. A perfect watch for ladies!

Trying out the LUC Engine One Tourbillon.

A very respectable and soft-spoken gentlemen.

The highlight of the evening was the magnificent Ferdinand Berthoud FB1 Tourbillon that was inspired by marine choronmeters

The octagonal case is beautifully made in rose gold. A long seconds hand is driven directly by the gear assembly below it. The black dial and a small white sub-dial telling the time at 12 o'clock provides a nice contrast to the overall look of this very dressy looking timepiece.

The back is equally stunning with a huge opening showing the tourbillon in motion and both the fusee and chain mechanism.

The rather huge crown with "FB" marked on it.

Clearly much thought has been put into the design of the case. You can see the fusee chain's cone shaped mechanism from the side of the case and I am sure this is one of the consideration for making an octagonal case.

The dome crystal adds to the aesthetic value of the watch.

A conversational piece indeed.

The glorious food!

Wrist Shots...

Many came with their LUC "Bees" watch.

The LUC Perpertual T on Karl's wrist!

Finally a wrist shot with the Boss!

Big thanks to Chris Neff, Connie Goh and the Chopard team for arranging this special evening with Mr and Mrs Karl-Friedrich Scheufele.
