F P Journe And The Vagabondage III.

In 2004, F.P. Journe created the Vagabondage I (a jumping hour watch) for Antiquorum’s 30th Anniversary. Three pieces were initially produced for the auction, with proceedings going to charity. Due to requests from customers and collectors, Journe created a limited run of 10 pieces with baguette diamonds and 69 pieces with diamonds. This was then followed by the Vagabondage II (jumping hours & minutes) in 2010.

Francois-Paul Journe met the press at Malmaison by The Hour Glass.

This year, we see the latest instalment of the Vagabondage series, the Vagabondage III - featuring the world’s first digital jumping seconds indicator on a watch.

Vagabondage III in Pt with a remontoir d’égalité and jumping seconds. The remontoir d’égalité  provides a contact force to the escapement. It's a pretty slim watch with the added complications. Like the other watches in the Vagabondage series, the case is well made with an unsigned dial.

The Vagabondage III is a very visually appealing watch. One can’t help but admire the beauty in the complication of the jumping seconds.

Love the overall look and it's an elegant watch on the wrist!

A beautiful movement in gold. It is impressive not only because of the complications but also its quality of finishing.

We also had the opportunity to try on the new Octa Reserve and Octa Lune Havana dial.

How do you like this new dial variation?

Under different light conditions, the brown or "tropical" dial creates a nice contrast with the white coloured hands.

Francois-Paul Journe, a true master who can easily hold his own against the greatest in watchmaking!
