SINGAPORE, 18 AUGUST 2016 - Audemars Piguet’s latest space is located in The Hour Glass at Paragon, Singapore. The shop-in-shop showcases an original Audemars Piguet concept design that captures over 140-years of the brand’s core values: origins, artistry, and extraordinary relationship. The blend of wood, metal and idyllic landscapes of Le Brassus immerses clients in the Vallée de Joux in Switzerland, birthplace of Audemars Piguet. This new space also commemorates over 30 years of The Hour Glass’s illustrious partnership with Audemars Piguet, one of the world’s oldest luxury watch manufacturer.

Press Release: Sinn 556 Anniversary.

In 2016, Sinn Spezialuhren is celebrating its 55-year anniversary - and the 556 Anniversary, limitied to 1,000 pieces, marks this special ocassion. With its satinised stainless-steel case and anthracite electroplated dial with sunburst decoration, the 556 Anniversary is an elegant watch for stylish occasions. While the limited of 1,000 pieces is documented by an engraving on the rotor, the dial features a direct reference to the anniversary by displaying the years ‘1961 - 2016’. Thanks to the transparent sapphire crystal back, the rotor engraving and the delicate mechanical movement can be seen particularly well. Additional features of this watch are its striking lines, minimal dial design and clear readability. The 556 Anniversary is resistant to low pressure and can withstand pressures of up to 20 bar.

Press Release: Omega's Rio Inspired Nato Bracelet.

To celebrate OMEGA's role as Official Timekeeper at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the Swiss watchmaker has created a NATO bracelet reminiscent of a running track. Using blue nylon with white stitching to create the impression of lanes, the sporty fabric strap also features a loop ring engraved with lane numbers. The buckle and loop rings are made of stainless steel.

Event Report: MisterChrono opened shop at Mandarin Gallery.

MisterChrono is a French company founded six years ago with shops in Paris and Hong Kong selling watch safes, watch winders and other watch accessories. Recently, they opened a branch in Mandarin Gallery, at the heart of Orchard Road. Following are the highlights of the evening.

The blue of the sea is the common characteristic of the new series of watches produced by Officine Panerai exclusively for its own boutiques throughout the world. For Panerai the sea is a fundamental element, inseparably associated with the history of the brand, and today this historic link is still reflected in its sponsorship of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge, the prestigious regattas for classic sailing boats. The dials of the Panerai watches in this exclusive series seem to have arisen from an encounter between the sea and the light, another identifying element of the brand. They are all an intense blue colour and they have been made even more attractive by the satiné soleil finish, a process which catches the light and diffuses it, thus creating subtle flashes and fascinating, ever-changing effects, like those caused by the rays of the sun and the waves of the sea.

Event Report: The Bvlgari Haute Horlogerie Collection.

Malmaison by The Hour Glass was the perfect venue for guests to view Bvlgari's Haute horlogerie collection. There were video and power point presentations by Pascal Kramer (Marketing Manager for Grand Complications). Pascal Legendre (Master Watchmaker) was also there to share his knowledge with us.

A Master watchmaker from Bvlgari was present to discuss the functionality of the minute repeaters with customers.   

  

The Carillon Tourbillon Repeater features an open dial for the owner to admire the beautiful tourbillon as well as the striking hammers (three hammers) at work at the 10 o'clock position.

Cal DR3300: The gongs were shaped entirely by hand according to the contour of the case.

Bvlgari Papillon Central Tourbillon: The Papillon is an iconic timepiece and now they have a beautiful piece with a centre flying tourbillon. 

Bvlgari Grande Sonnerie Tourbillon: The gold case is integrated with a cyclindrical band made of Magsonic (a low density alloy) that can help amplify the Westminster chime.
