Press release: CORUM Presents Its Iconic 2016 BUBBLE Collection In A Whirlwind Of Psychedelic Fun.

Singapore May 2016 -- CORUM “Be Fun Be Bubble” party held at the newly opened, The South Beach Club, on Thursday 5 May, celebrates the revival of one of the brand’s most successful and iconic collection, BUBBLE.

First launched in 2000, in an era where big watches were scarce, unconventionally shaped watches almost unheard of, CORUM took the bold step and rode on the wave that soon sweep watchmaking history.

Singapore, the first city in the world to preview this complete collection outside of BaselWorld 2016, witnessed the launch of the BUBBLE High Jewellery Skeleton unique pieces, the BUBBLE Tourbillon and the BUBBLE Dani Olivier, a collaboration with acclaimed French photographer who specializes in “abstract and psychedelic nudes”, human bodies covered in patterns of coloured light. In this collaboration, CORUM miniaturized Olivier’s art, transferring two of his most distinctive photographs onto the BUBBLE watch dial.

The 2016 BUBBLE collection are all limited to just 88 pieces worldwide, with the final 88th piece a unique piece of its own. Besides the 47mm offering, this year, CORUM also introduced the 42mm BUBBLE catering to increasing demands from ladies. CORUM scored full house with the BUBBLE in 2000 and continuing from that success, the brand celebrates this emblematic timepiece with the BUBBLE Gaming, a series that is a nod to the first BUBBLE, reviving themes that became a signature of the original, like the roulette wheel and joker.

The BUBBLE Gaming series comprise of five limited edition timepieces: BUBBLE 8 Ball, BUBBLE Casino Chip, BUBBLE Dice, BUBBLE Joker and BUBBLE Roulette.

The Be Fun Be Bubble party, played host to some 200 media and VIP guests over two sessions held at the recently opened, The South Beach Club. The three-story building that houses the Club now was the former Britannia Club opened in 1952 by the British Commissioner-General Malcolm MacDonald and later reopened and renamed the NonCommissioned Officers' (NCO) Club in 1974.
Some 60 years later, the interior of the building has been given a makeover by French designer, Philippe Starck, whose unique and quirky take to design is perfectly in line with the DNA of CORUM’s BUBBLE collection.

What is a BUBBLE party without the bubbly? Guests were treated to an afternoon and evening of non-stop fun activities, from champagne tasting conducted by sommeliers from Sarment to a game of champagne pong challenge, a twist to the original beer pong.

Winner of the CORUM Bubble Op Art watch, Jeffery Lai with Francis Leong, Brand Manager, CORUM Watches S.E.A.

The party ended on a high note with three lucky guests walking home with a CORUM BUBBLE watch, CORUM Admiral’s Cup AC-One Bois wall clocks, and a magnum size of Henri Giraud Esprit champagne courtesy of Sarment.
